Loup City offers a variety of recreational things to do. This small, quaint town has everything from fishing and boating at Sherman Reservoir to playing a quick round of golf at the Loup City Golf Course. The kids might take some time on a warm spring day to play at Jenner’s Park, a once upon a time amusement park and zoo. Kids and adults can enjoy a cool dip in the Loup City swimming pool on a hot steamy summer afternoon. Bowman State Recreational area is also a great place for fisherman to spend time.
The Loup City Golf Course is a beautiful 9 hole golf course located on the edge of town. Green fees are $10 for 9 holes and $15 for 18 holes. Carts are also available at $10 for 9 holes and $15 for 18 holes.
Loup City is also a great location for anyone interested in bird and deer hunting. The rolling grasslands intermingles with traditional Nebraska crops provides for a perfect combination of habitat and food for outstanding upland bird production. Pheasant, Quail, Duck, Goose, Dove, Turkey and Grouse are abundant throughout the region. White Tail and Mule Deer are also common game objectives in the area.
