Revenue for the Sherman County Lodging Tax Fund is generated solely by the collection of a tax upon all lodging activity in the county. This in turn is used toward activities that will draw people into Sherman County, subsequently increasing the number of lodging events in the County and thereby repopulating the funds.
Nonprofit organizations within the County may apply for funding with respect to the two funds that exist:
County VisitorPromotion Fund
Provides funding support for those wishing to promote an event or tourism related location.
County Visitor Improvement Fund
Provides funding towards the improvement and/or expansion of existing attractions that are opento the public and are or educational, cultural, historical, artistic, or
recreational significance.
