The committee is comprised of volunteers who meet together to explore ways to improve the health of the community through wellness projects and activities. The committee began meeting in February of 2009 and started as part of a grant funded through BlueCross BlueShield of Nebraska called “Stay in the Loup”. Over the past few years, “Stay in the Loup” has sponsored several “Walk at Work Days” with and has also sponsored a “Historical Walk” and ”Nature Walk” during Polish Days.
The project also offered an extended program for those who wanted to work towards a personal wellness goal. Over 50 participants set goals, logged their progress and received support, health information and Chamber Bucks incentives.
What wellness issues do you feel are most important in the community?
The Loup City Wellness Committee would like to invite you to join the group and share your opinions and knowledge. For more information about the next meeting contact Susan Bochart at CNCS, 745-0780 Ext. 145 or sbochart@cennecs.org.
