Alumni Banquet
The Loup City High School Alumni Banquet is held every other year on the Saturday of Memorial Weekend. Former students of Loup City High School enjoy a day full of fun, memories and laughter. There are activities throughout the day starting with a school tour, a tour around town, social hour, dinner, and dancing. Polish Days
As the Polish Capital of Nebraska, Loup City makes their tribute by celebrating Polish Days each year. This celebration takes place the first weekend in June and draws in crowds from all over. Polish Days has a lot to offer people of all ages. Some of the events you will experience are the parade, polka dances, the carnival, melodrama, polish dinner, co-ed sand volleyball, kiddie tractor pull and disc golf.
4th of July
Over 4th of July you can enjoy the fireworks over Sherman Reservoir. The annual fireworks display is held at Sherman Reservoir off the face of the dam to the North. You can view this from the shoreline or be a boat spectator from the lake. The fireworks are held on the Saturday closest to the 4th of July at dusk.
Sherman County Fair
At the end of July you can attend the Sherman County Fair. You can enjoy free Bar-B-Que, beef show, hog show, bull riding contest, demolition derby, and much more!
Junk Jaunt
Plan to go shopping along the 300+ mile continuous yard sale, the last full weekend in September. You will find everything from tools to kolaches. The Junk Jaunt route runs along the Loup Rivers (Hwy. 11 & 91) and the Sandhills Journey (Hwy. 2). For more information you can visit the website at www.junkjaunt.com.
